London Airports

Apart of Heathrow Airport, London area has several operative airports:

GATWICK AIRPORT

London Gatwick Airport is the second biggest airport operating in London area. It is located 5km north of Crawley, 45km from London city centre. 

Heathrow to Gatwick

These two airports are located 42 miles/68 km from each other. From Heathrow Airport, there are different transport options: Taking a coach is a good option, National Express and Megabus have several direct routes between both airports every day. Passengers can also use the train: link in Victoria Station to get until Gatwick. But if you carry lot of luggage, taking the bus is a better option. 

LONDON CITY AIRPORT 

London City Airport gives service to financial district in London city. It is located in Docklands, 11km east of London, in Newham district. 

Heathrow to London City Airport

The two airports are located 26miles/42km apart. From Heathrow, passengers only have the option to take the train to get to London City Airport and the total travel time is one hour. It is needed to take different trains. 

STANSTED AIRPORT

London-Stansted Airport operates in London area too. Located in Stansted Mountfitchet, in Essex, 48 km from Central London. 

Heathrow to Stansted 

The two airports are located 60miles/96km apart. There are several options to get there. 

One is to take a coach, it runs one every 30 minutes, by National Express company. Find more information here. 

The other one is to take Stansted Express trains from Liverpool Street, so passengers need to go to London city centre first. 

LUTON AIRPORT

London Luton Airport, also knew as Luton International Airport, is another of the six airports giving service to London city. It is located in Luton, 56,5km from London, at the north. 

Heathrow to Luton

The two airports are located 34 miles/55km apart. Passengers have coach or train options. National Express has 28 departures a day to get to Luton and train journey takes around 75 minutes, making transfers. 

LoNDOn southend airport

Southend Airport is located in Southend-on-Sea in Essex, 36km from London City.
